So You Want to Build a Roll Cage...

The old joint jigger allows you to cut fishmouth ends on tube from 0-45°. The tube in the picture is a piece of 4130, 1.375x0.035; the jigger can hold tubes up to 2.250 od and hole saw cutters up to about 3". I use it in my drill press, but it can be driven with a 1/2" drill right at the worksite, allowing you to fabricate pieces almost in place.

Peter and I used it when building the frame for Jen's time trial bike (the one I used to win the State Championship in '96) and some other bits, and it worked out just fine.
